Aims & Objectives of the Society

The South African Palm Society was founded in 1983.

The Aims and Objectives of the Society are: 

a) To promote and publicise all aspects of palms. 

b) To promote active research in the field of palms. 

c) To promote and encourage propagation of palms. 

d) To promote and assist in the exchange of palm seeds, seedlings and plants among members as well as other affiliates and or mutually interested organizations worldwide. 

e) To promote membership of the Society, the International Palm Society and any affiliate or associated Society or Organization. 

f) To promote the dissemination of information related to palms in the Society and to all members.

g) Membership of the Society will be open to all individuals, organizations and institutions interested in palms.
